Commonly Referenced Codes

We do not review plans for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act or the Texas Accessibility Standards. We do, however, review plans in accordance with locally adopted codes. The McKinney Fire Department has adopted the 2012 International Fire Code (IFC).

Section 102.7.3 of the 2012 IFC adopts the most currently published editions of the following NFPA standards.
  • NFPA 13, 2016 Edition
  • NFPA 13R, 2016 Edition
  • NFPA 13D, 2016 Edition
  • NFPA 14, 2016 Edition
  • NFPA 24, 2016 Edition
  • NFPA 25, 2014 Edition
  • NFPA 30, 2015 Edition
  • NFPA 72, 2016 Edition
If you wish to use a specific edition of an NFPA standard for your project, please contact the Engineering Division to discuss your rationale to use the another edition and the provisions you want to take advantage of.
