NTTA Tolltags
Obtain a TollTag at City of McKinney utility billing office
The City of McKinney will offer drivers the
opportunity to open a new North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) TollTag account at one convenient location, the Utility Billing in City Hall, 222 N. Tennessee St.
By using an NTTA TollTag, drivers will save time and money as they enjoy the most
convenient access to toll roads on any toll road in Texas. Drivers using a TollTag
will pay less to drive NTTA toll roads than those who do not. A TollTag can also be used
to pay for pass-through and parking costs at D/FW International Airport and
Dallas Love Field Airport.
To get a TollTag from the City of McKinney, you can complete a paper application on site or electronically by following these instructions:
1. Click here to go to the special City of McKinney NTTA Customer Service Center.
2. Click the “Open a New Account” tab.
3. Click the “Begin” button on the lower right.
4. Complete the online application.
5. Go to the McKinney Utility Billing office to complete the process and get your TollTag.
In most cases, this process takes less than 5 minutes.
After you have completed the electronic application, please see a Customer Service
Representative to obtain your TollTag(s) with your photo ID.
To apply for a TollTag you MUST have the following information:
1. Year, make, model, color, state and license plate number of the vehicle for which the TollTag
is being purchased
2. A valid driver’s license
3. Valid credit or debit card (Master Card, Visa, American Express, or Discover).
Payment to the NTTA must be made with a credit card.
4. Payments are processed electronically by NTTA and not made directly to the
City of McKinney.
TollTag Costs
A $40 starting balance will be charged to the credit/debit card, allowing customers to have up
to three TollTags for the three vehicles on their account. As the TollTags are used, tolls will be deducted from the account balance. Once the account balance drops below $10, another $40
will be charged to the credit/debit card and added to the TollTag account balance.

What if I need help with my existing TollTag account?
This service is for new TollTag accounts only. Users with existing accounts should contact NTTA at http://www.ntta.org/ or 1-877-991-0033.
If you apply for a TollTag at http://www.ntta.org/ (and not through the link provided here), you will not be able to pick up your TollTag from a City location.
