Mission Statement

The Community Services Department enhances the quality of life in the City of McKinney by providing social service, educational, economic, and civic program and resources. The Community Services Department includes: Affordable Housing Services, the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Neighborhood Services.

How can Community Services help you?
Community Services staff coordinate communication between the community, neighborhood groups and the City organization. The staff has developed a network of relationships with other community organizations and can offer information about programs or services that you may not know about. The Department strives to enhance the quality of life for the entire community.

Review of the Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan

Thank you for your participation and interest to help shape the City's five-year Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan.  Approximately 50 persons attended the forum in the  Delaney Room of the Roy and Helen Memorial Library, 101 W. Hunt Street on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 6:00 PM.      Download Flyer

To review the public notice and the draft of the Consolidated Plan and Action Plan, please review under this link.   Update:  The final draft will be presented to City Council at the rescheduled meeting date of September 7, 2010.
