Garage Sales

The City of McKinney allows residents two garage sales per calendar year. Residents can request a garage sale permit in two ways. One way is to come to the Development Services Building at 221 N. Tennessee St. A permit technician can issue a permit over the counter. The other way to obtain a garage sale permit is by way of this webpage. To request a garage sale permit by email, please submit the following information to the e-mail address listed at the bottom of the page:

• Name
• Address
• Date of garage sale

Once this information is received, a staff member with the Building Inspections Department will e-mail back a garage sale permit. Please note that if you send your request more than a week before the sale, the permit will not be processed until the week of the sale. If you have questions, please call 972-547-7400.
