Mission Statement

The Fire Marshal's Office identifies and eliminates potential fire hazards and reduces the frequency and effects of fire through education, code administration, enforcement, plan review and fire origin/cause investigations all conducted in a cooperative, competent manner.

Goal

The goal of the Fire Marshal’s Office is to assist its customers in understanding our submittal, plan review and inspection process and policies, as they pertain to new and existing construction. Our goal is to partner with developers, owners and contractors to be successful in new construction endeavors and existing building modifications. Familiarity with and adherence to our guidelines, requirements and notices described on this website can greatly assist you in compliance with local codes and ordinances, and aid in preparing for inspections.

NOTICE REGARDING FDC CHANGES

Effective April 1st, 2009, IAW IFC Section 903.3.6, we will be requiring a 5" Storz FDC connection with a 30 degree elbow and Knox StorzGuard Locking Caps on all sprinkler and standpipe systems.

FIRE ALARM NOTIFICATION CHANGES

Effective October 1st, 2008, we will be requiring audible and visual notification in al public and common areas IAW IFC Section 907.10.1. See Information Notice 2008-10 for more information.
