On September 11, 2010, The City of McKinney will commemorate the events of September 11, 2001 with its ninth annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony. Events will be held at Veteran's Memorial Park, 6053 Weiskopf Ave. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. and a complimentary lunch will be served afterward. The Operations Division includes all emergency response functions out of eight fire stations. These stations are staffed 24/7 and are strategically located throughout the City.
Fire Prevention responds to requests for general fire inspections, service requests for possible unsafe conditions or fire code violations, and inspections of state-licensed facilities. Fire Prevention personnel interact with other City departments to help citizens with code-related questions and assist fire crews and property owners in the investigation of suspicious fires.
