Board of Directors

Johnny Galyean, Chairman

Johnny Galyean is co-owner and President of Square One Mortgage, located at the southeast corner of McKinney's Downtown Square. Galyean graduated from Baylor University in 1990 with a BBA in Financial Planning/Accounting. He and his wife Carrie have two sons, Cade and Grant.

In addition to serving on the Main Street board, Mr. Galyean serves as the Chair for the McKinney Chamber of Commerce. He is also a board member for the McKinney Education Foundation and the Volunteer McKinney Center.

Sharla Bush, Vice-Chair

Sharla Arthur Bush was born in 1955 in Dallas, Texas, raised in Irving, graduated with a BBA from Southern Methodist University in 1977. Following graduation she joined the family retail business managing her mother's florist and bridal shop which opened in 1957.

Sharla and George Bush married in 1980, resided in Dallas, but relocated to McKinney in 1987. Upon arriving here she noticed many people referring to George as their distant cousin. After checking out the connections Sharla discovered the Bushes were one of the first five families to settle Collin County.

Both Sharla and George have a deep love for McKinney and the preservation of its historic past. The Historic Downtown has always intrigued them. Purchasing and remodeling several buildings over the years has been a rewarding experience as they have watched the Downtown become a vibrant part of McKinney's culture once again.

Sharla believes small retail establishments are the back bone of our culture and preserving that opportunity for generations to come is crucial. After being a stay at home mom for 24 years she opened Sharla's Cosmetic and Bath Boutique in the Ritz Theater Building in August 2004. She is passionate about bringing the finest quality products to McKinney and offering exceptional service.

Sharla's vision for Historic Downtown is see it continue to evolve and become the most desirable shopping, dining and entertainment experience in Texas. She is committed to working with the Main Street Board, Merchants and Property Owners toward recognizing our collective goals.

Coco Good

Coco Good is the Communications and Marketing Director for the City of McKinney. She brings nearly 15 years of Fortune 100 and PR agency experience to the role. Ms. Good's focus is to ensure effective communication while creating an up-to-date brand name for McKinney both within and beyond the city's borders. She spearheaded the effort to launch the new community-wide brand, logo and tagline: McKinney, Texas, Unique by Nature, and creates and executes the long-term strategic marketing and communications plan for the city.

Prior to joining McKinney, Mrs. Good managed global communications and marketing efforts at EDS, the second largest information technology service company. She established messaging, directed creative communications to build the company brand worldwide with regional integration throughout EDS and amongst their 135,000 employees. Working closely with senior executives, she directed teamwork and strategic goals using creative, out-of-the-box thinking and business strategy.

CoCo Good joined the Main Street Board in October 2005 and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Volunteer McKinney Center.

Dorie Helsley

Dorie Helsley has been the owner of Cotton Hearts since 1995 in Historic Downtown McKinney. Prior to that, she was a Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher at Holy Family School in McKinney for seven years. Dorie is married to Thad Helsley and has two children, Mika and Jeremy.

Mrs. Helsley was appointed to the Main Street Board in October 2009.

Jan Temples

Jan Temples is owner of Home on the Range, which was a shop in Downtown McKinney for over 9 years, and has recently moved to the west side of McKinney. She previously worked as a product manager for EDS and a sales representative for Prodigy Services. Mrs. Temple has a business degree from Southern Methodist University.

Jan Temples has formerly been on the Board of Directors of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, was a Board member and Chairperson of the Downtown McKinney Association, and was a Board member and Chairperson for the McKinney Conventions and Visitors Bureau and co-chair of the City of McKinney Bond Election. Mrs. Temples was Board appointed to the Main Street Board in June 2005.

Jennifer Cox

 Jennifer Cox is the Director of Planning for the City of McKinney. She has been with the city since 2001 and served previously as the Community Services Manager.

Mrs. Cox received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees of Public Affairs from the University of Texas. She is certified with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) in 2004 and is also a member of the American Planning Association and the Congress for New Urbanism.

Mrs. Cox was city appointed to the Main Street board in December 2006.

John Rattan

John Rattan is owner of The Body Shop. Mr. Rattan, who was born in McKinney, received his Marketing Degree from Texas Tech in 1972. He went on to work for Boyle-Midway and Ethicon before opening the Body Shop in 1976. Quite a successful business, The Body Shop now has three locations in McKinney, Dallas and Garland.

John Rattan currently serving on the Chamber of Commerce Board as well as the following boards: MEF, P&Z Anna, AEDC, Texas Star Bank and Chestnut Square.

Jon Dell'Antonia

Jon Dell'Antonia is a retired business executive from Oshkosh, WI where he was Vice President of Information Technology and CIO of OshKosh B'Gosh, Inc. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Information Technology for the Coleman Company in Wichita, KS. He has a degree in Business Administration form Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS.

He had extensive community experience in Oshkosh including 10 years service as a City Councilman including serving two years as Mayor. His community involvement also included serving as Chairman of the Oshkosh Convention & Visitors Bureau, Chairman of the Oshkosh Planning Commission, a member of the Oshkosh Economic Development Committee, the Downtown Partnership Committee, the Grand Opera House board, the UWO Chancellors advisory board, and numerous other civic activities.

He is a member of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, and was elected to the Stonebridge Ranch Board of Directors in May of 2008. He was appointed to the Main Street Board in September 2009.

Karen Klassen

Karen Klassen is a McKinney native since 1965 and a downtown property owner since 1981. After a corporate career selling computer software, Karen moved back to McKinney in 1995 and opened "K. Feathers and Co." in Downtown McKinney. In August of 2003 Karen opened "Spoon's Cafe" also in Downtown McKinney. In March of 2007 Karen started the renovation of the 1920's family owned building to hold Spoon's Cafe. In October 2007 Spoon's Cafe opened in the new location.

Karen is the past president of the Downtown Merchant Association, sat on the board of the Avenues Counseling Center, The Chamber Music Association and has been involved in numerous community events.

Molly Brewer

Molly Brewer is the owner of B-Innovative Creative, A McKinney-based Production Company specializing in broadcast and electronic media advertising and public relations. Over the past two decades, she has helped shape branding concepts for corporations like Wal-Mart, McDonalds, Coca-Cola and The American Heart Association.

In 2006 and 2007 Ms. Brewer was the recipient of the Dallas Ad League's coveted Eagle Award. In 2008, she was honored to receive several Telly Awards for clients such as State Farm Insurance, Texas Gas Services, and University of Texas in El Paso. Brewer has contributed her time and talent to promote social-profit agencies such as Habitat for Humanity International and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. She works with McKinney Community Development Corporation to help promote our city to others.

Renee Funderburg

Renee Funderburgh has been a Realtor with RE/MAX since 2001. After many years as a top producing agent she made the decision to form the Funderburgh Group and open a satellite RE/MAX office in Historic Downtown McKinney. The Funderburgh Group was created to better serve the needs of their clients as well as their community.  Working together for the good of all is a fundamental element to Mrs. Funderburgh's business as well as her personal philosophy. Prior to Real Estate Renee spent over 15 years in entertainment promotion and management.

Renee Funderburgh is married to Anson Funderburgh. They have two children, Savannah and Cade. She also serves as room mom and on the HOA board in her neighborhood.

Tom Meredith

Tom Meredith is the owner of The Pantry Restaurant and Amato's Italian Ristorante, McKinney; and Meredith Cattle Company LLC, Dawson, TX.

Mr. Meredith received his Master of Science in Operations Research from the University of Texas at Dallas. His B.B.A. is from the University of Oklahoma, and he attended Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado for three semesters. Previously Mr. Meredith has served as a SAS Programmer/Consultant, Business Unit Manager, Production Manager/Industrial Engineer, and Operations Manager, for companies including Verizon Information Systems and Stanley Mechanics Tools, Inc. Meredith is fluent in Spanish and is a Certified Toastmaster.

Tom Meredith has been City Council appointed to the Main Street Board in 2004-2007 and again in October 2009. His is also currently a member of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Property Owners Association and the Texas Restaurant Association.
