Second Saturdays                                                                                                                    

When: Every second Saturday of the month 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Where: Historic Downtown McKinney

The Community and beyond will enjoy an evening of art, music, food and spirits every second Saturday in Downtown McKinney.  Guests can explore local art galleries, listen to great local and regional talent and taste some of the areas best eateries.  Many places in Downtown McKinney will keep their doors open from 7-10 p.m.  For more information please call McKinney Main Street at 972-547-2660.

McKinney Oktoberfest 2010

When: Friday, September 24 from 4:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. & Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Where: Historic Downtown McKinney

McKinney meets Bavaria on September 24 - 25, 2010! Drawing on the colorful tradition that began in Munich, Germany in 1810, the McKinney Oktoberfest will represent many things to many people. We will celebrate our diversity with a cultural event that reflects the many contributions of German immigrants who settled in Texas. We will enjoy a fun, family-friendly event that will offer authentic German music, food & drink, traditional costumes, dancing, children's activities and much more.

Scare on the Square 2010

When: Friday, October 29, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Where: Historic Downtown McKinney

This annual event has grown to hundreds of trick-or-treaters enjoying hayrides, treats and a safe, secure family fun Halloween event. Historic Downtown is closed off for trick-or-treaters to cross the street safely, going shop to shop for goodies.

30th Annual Dickens of a Christmas...Home for the Holidays

Thanksgiving Weekend
When: Friday, November 26 and Saturday, November 27 from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, November, 28 from 12:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Where: Historic Downtown McKinney

Downtown McKinney's premier festival, the 30th Annual Dickens of a Christmas...Home for the Holidays. An old fashioned, Christmas atmosphere with horse drawn carriages, traveling carolers, visits with Santa Claus, the Christmas tree lighting and activities for all ages. Seasonal music, food, children's activities provided by local non-profit organizations will take center stage during the event.
Patrons are encouraged to spend the weekend enjoying all the activities and taking advantage of the many great shops, restaurants and entertainment. The perfect start to the holiday season - Dickens of a Christmas is our opportunity to give back to the community.
The event will be held for (3) days (November 26, 27, and 28, 2010). This festive event will launch on Friday, November 26 with the lighting of the Christmas Tree (Mitchell Park) and candlelight shopping until 8:00 p.m. Periodically, during the month of December, the Shops in Downtown McKinney will stay open for extended hours so that customers have a chance to finish all of that holiday shopping in one place with over 100 boutiques, art galleries, bookstores, apparel, gifts and exquisite antiques. Consumers can find the unique and special things that they won't find anywhere else in Downtown McKinney. This magical event is free to the public.

9th Annual Krewe of Barkus - Happy Tails to You!

Sunday before Mardi Gras
When: Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Where: Mitchell Park in Historic Downtown McKinney

Dress your four-legged friend in Wild, Wild West style and head to Historic Downtown McKinney for an afternoon of Mardi Gras fun. Patterned after the legendary Mystic Krewe of Barkus in New Orleans, which was established to help abused and abandoned canines. Historic Downtown McKinney calls in all dogs and dog lovers for a dog parade, costume contest, canine training, exercise demonstrations and much more.

Art Walk...Downtown McKinney is Hopping

When: Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Where: Historic Downtown McKinney

Local and regional artist will come out to play in Downtown McKinney on May 21, 2011. McKinney Main Street invites you to come down and visit the shops in Downtown McKinney hosting artists representing every mix and medium of art. Over 100 artists will showcase their art forte in store fronts throughout downtown. A series of uniquely decorated frogs line the downtown streets to guide shoppers into shops during the event. The Art Walk is a perfect opportunity to come down and experience the magic of the historic shopping district. The weather is just right to enjoy the day with your family and indulge in shopping, dining and art of all kinds.

Bike the Bricks

When: Friday, June 10, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Where: Historic Downtown McKinney

McKinney Main Street is proud to announce the second annual “Bike the Bricks” closed course “crit” bike race in Historic Downtown McKinney. The focus will be to deliver a nail-biting and interactive event that will draw increased exposure not only to health and wellness but highlighting our one-of- a kind Historic downtown. The event will include interval races along with a mayoral cup challenge (inviting the community and beyond to join the race), live entertainment, food and drink. The climax of the event will draw in racers from across the state and beyond as these cyclists square off and chase a purse in the amount of $15,000.
