Oktoberfest March and Tapping of the Keg (Friday, September 24: 6:00 p.m.)
Join Councilman Pete Huff and local dignitaries on Friday at 6:00 p.m. in the front of the Main Stage for the Opening Ceremonies. Councilman Huff will officially tap the first keg of Franconia, local McKinney Brewery by hammering the bronze spout into an over 200 year old keg with a wooden mallet.
McKinney Oktoberfest 2010 March and Cheers (Saturday, September 25: 11:00 a.m.)
Join McKinney Main Street and supporting sponsors in downtown McKinney for the traditional Oktoberfest March and Cheers.
Bier Barrel Races – No cost
Collin County Young Lawyers Association will host Bier Barrel Races during McKinney Oktoberfest.
Oktoberfest Arts & Crafts – No cost
McKinney Art House will host Oktoberfest Arts & Crafts during McKinney Oktoberfest
Community Painting, Pottery wheel, Printing Making and Pumpkin Painting.
Main Street Magic & Fun Company's German Train - $1 per ride
Main Street Magic & Fun Company will be offering rides on their one of a kind German Train during McKinney Oktoberfest. The train will depot will be in front of Main Street Magic & Fun Company on North Tennessee Street located at 211 N. Tennessee St. Rides will be a $1 per person, adults and children of all ages are welcome to ride.
Kinder Activities (closes at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday) – No cost
The Goddard School of McKinney will host kinder activities during McKinney Oktoberfest.
- Pass the pumpkin with German polka music (think hot potato)
- Pumpkin penny toss – we would carve out pumpkins and the children will toss pennies into the pumpkins for prizes
- Apple juice relays – fill steins with apple juice and try not to spill a drop, and be the first one back to the start line
- Pumpkin tic-tac-toe
- Paper pumpkin painting
